And when that happens, the Youth AirFlex Knee Guard Hybrid ensures knees are covered and you should be good to keep riding after a fall. To take out the sting of blows to the knee, the guards use slim AirFlex gel pads. This soft and flexible material lets you move easily in normal riding use, but it soaks up the impact when you fall. Over the gel pads sits a hardshell knee cup. Not only does this add protection against direct impacts, but it also prevents sliding injuries when you fall at speed.  Comfort and sweat control are also of importance when you pull on the Airlfex guards. And here Leatt have used technology from their MTB jerseys to great effect. MoistureCool and AirMesh wicking fabrics are used to ensure sweat doesn't hang around and airflow is maintained. The flexible, pre-curved knitted base layer won't restrict your movement either. Non-slip cuffs, with silicone grippers, keep your pads nicely in place too. Single sizing also allows for a perfect fit.
